Facts about Bingo calls for numbers 31 to 40. Most bingo callers say something like "3 and 4, 34". Some numbers have other, more interesting calls.

Bingo calls for the number 31


  • Get up and run. This isn't very exciting is it? A simple rhyme.

Bingo calls for the number 32


  • Buckle my shoe. Another simple rhyme.
  • Jimmy Choo. This is quite clever. Besides rhyming, Jimmy Choo is a shoe designer, so this call ties in with the more usual call "Buckle my shoe".

  • All the 3s. For obvious reasons.
  • All the feathers. Because "Fleur de Lys" rhymes with 3s.
  • Other calls for the number 23 include "Dirty Knee", "2 little fleas", and "Gertie Lee". Because they rhyme with three.

  • Ask for more. It rhymes. Enough said.

  • Jump and jive. Also occasionally used for 25.

  • Three dozen. 3 twelves make 36, and a dozen is a term for 12 things.
  • 6 sixes. Another simple maths calculation.

  • More than 11. Clearly true, and yet another simple rhyme.
  • A flea in heaven. Because "one little flea" is a call for 3, and 7 rhymes with heaven.

  • Christmas cake. An obvious rhyme, but a fruity one.

  • Steps. From the book and film "39 steps".
  • Also used are "All the steps", "The famous steps", and "Jack Benny". Jack Benny claimed every birthday was his 39th.

Bingo calls for the number 40


  • Naughty Forty. A simple rhyme.
  • Two score. A score is a term for 20, and 2 twenties make forty.
  • Life begins at 40. An old cliché. Or should that be a middle aged cliché.
  • Blind forty. The players will often say "Four, Oh" in a northern accent, and the caller will respond "Aye".
